HELEO is a grand project about the first-ever Greek Optical Constellation. It is a project funded by the E[uropean Space Agency](https://www.esa.int/), with a number of entities participating in the consortium and the Libre Space Foundation being a subcontractor.
More specifically, in this project the Libre Space Foundation is bringing in its expertise in RF payloads by delivering the AIS and IoT rideshare payloads. Leveraging the many years of expertise in designing and developing open-source satellites and sub-systems, these payloads will contribute to the project, complementing the mission along with the primary payloads. LSF will also establish the master satellite ground station of the project, utilizing the organization’s long experience in building, running, and maintaining the world’s biggest open-source network of satellite ground stations (SatNOGS).
